Dayasarana Women’s Society (DWS) was established in 2010 as the women`s arm of Dayasarana Development Foundation (DDF)
The aim of DWS is to give a helping hand to women of low income families in Ampara district to initiate some kind of activity to enhance their family earnings.
DWS membership today is approx 9227. They meet once a month and discuss their work programmes.
DDF along with DWS have organized several training programmers for women in Ampara.
Eg: Reed & Rush/ weaving, batik painting, beauty culture , poultry farming ,planting export agricultural plants, self employment activities such as preparing short eats etc.
Apart from that DDF and DWS have conducted medical camps, seminars to educate women regarding their daily health care.
As a result several women have stated their own income generating activities
